Senior Finance and Operations Officer (MCAPS)
Medical Care Development, Inc. (MCD) is a non-profit organization recognized in the United States and internationally as a leader, innovator, and trusted partner in the design, implementation, and assessment of high quality, enduring programs in public health.
MCD is looking to bring on board a qualified Mozambican professional to act as the Malaria Capacity Strengthening (MCAPS) program Senior Finance and Operations Officer, based in the MCAPS office in Maputo. The Senior Finance and Operations Officer’s main responsibility is to safeguard the assets (financial and physical) of MCD and ultimately the donor against fraud, loss or misuse and to ensure proper documentation and processing of the finances of the organization. The Sr. F&O Officer is primarily responsible for supporting the F&O Director with managing budgets and funds supporting the field teams, managing the MCAPS’ financial and operations systems including the accounting system, data processing, reporting, compliance monitoring and staff training, actively participating in the development of the annual workplan budget and performing administrative and accounting reviews of provincial budgets as well as other duties The Officer should be aware of, and adhere to, MCDI’s procurement integrity standards in all activities and all administrative, financial and HR SOPs.
The objective of the MCAPS program is to improve the provision of quality malaria services.
Knowledge, qualifications, and skills include:
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or other equivalent qualifications
A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing accounting and administrative functions
Ability to multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines is essential
Experience with Quicken and or QuickBooks and other computerized accounting software as well as proficiency in MS Excel, is an advantage.
Conversant with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and USG rules and regulations
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Portuguese
Strong computer and organizational skills and excellent time management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to travel to MCAPS provinces
