We are looking to bring on board a full-time Senior Technical Advisor into this newly created role. The STA serves as the in-house technical advisor on international business development working in close consultation with Deputy Director, Business Development and the Senior Technical Lead. She/he will is mainly responsible for leading proposal technical design and writing. In consultation with the STL, the STA also supports the Technical Unit and ensures that it provides state of the art technical guidance to the international programs, and contributes to other crosscutting organizational development efforts.

The successful candidate must have a solid record of accomplishment in proposal development and have experience in one or more priority program areas in one or more of our international programs (e.g. Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, WASH, Health System Strengthening, Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement).

Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills:
• Master’s Degree in international health, public health, or related field.
• At least 7 years of related work experience serving as a proposal lead, technical contributor, writer, being in charge of strategic and technical proposal design in the health sector. Must demonstrate proposal-writing expertise.
• As least 5 years demonstrated record of accomplishment in successful proposal development in one or more of our priority areas: Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Sanitation and Hygiene, Health System Strengthening, and/or communicable diseases.
• Strong knowledge of USAID, World Bank, Global Fund and major health donors funding mechanisms, frameworks, programs.
• At least 5 years of related work experience providing technical assistance to health programs in one or more MCDI priority program areas.
• Strong knowledge of major partners i.e. peer organizations in the health sector, academic institutions, etc; and knowledge of MCDI focus country settings in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, etc.
• Strong partnership and networking skills.
• Strong analytic, writing and knowledge management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, team player, ability to work in complex environments.
• Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite.
• Fluent in English; working knowledge of French, Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

Position Type: Senior level (Full Time)
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland or remote (with up to 20% anticipated international travel )
