Administrative Assistant

Medical Care Development, Inc., a not-for-profit health services organization is seeking a professional to serve as Administrative Assistant for our Human Resources department.  This part-time 20 hour per week, 4 hours per day position is located at our Augusta office.  We are searching for an energetic, flexible, detail-oriented candidate with a conscientious work style.  This position is not eligible for benefits.

Applicant must be organized, able to handle multiple tasks with varying deadlines accurately under minimal supervision, creative, willing to learn and apply skills, a team player, and enjoy working with the public.  Candidate must be proficient with current Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point).  Additional software program that the applicant must learn is our MCD database.  Three years of office/secretarial experience is preferred.  Position is available immediately.

This position will be in close contact with the employees of MCD as well as the public.  Candidate must have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people with varying personalities and work styles.  This position includes data entry into different software programs as well as dealing with highly confidential information on a daily basis.

Vaccine Safety Specialist

Medical Care Development, Inc., a not-for-profit health services organization in collaboration with the Maine Center for Disease Control (CDC) is seeking a highly qualified public health professional to assist with addressing H1N1 in Maine.  The successful candidate will be energetic, flexible, and detail-oriented candidate with a conscientious work style and project management skills.  A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (public health, psychology, education, social sciences) with 1-2 years experience is preferred.

Vaccine Safety Specialist (9 months):  This position will assist in managing projects aimed at increasing compliance with federal CDC’s recommendations and promoting the use of the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.

  • Network with vaccine providers and other medical, nursing and pharmacy professionals.

  • Design educational material aimed at promoting the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System to providers.

  • Collect data from the federal CDC VAERS database and draft reports.

  • Research and follow-up individual adverse event reports.

  • Assist Maine Immunization Program, Maine CDC in other duties as needed.

Direct Care Staff - Skowhegan and Norway
Medical Care Development, a non-profit agency, serving individuals with developmental and other disabilities, is seeking direct care aides to work with residents on activities of daily living in the Skowhegan and Norway area. We are looking for responsible, caring and positive team players. A high school diploma or equivalent, valid Maine driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work in a challenging environment required. Applicants with experience in working with the developmentally disabled preferred. Hours will be variable.
