Maine HIV Prevention Community Planning Group
MCD provides
coordination and staff support to the Maine HIV Prevention
Community Planning
Group under a contract with the Maine Bureau of Health. The purpose of
this Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) mandated group is to develop and continually update the State of
Maine Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan. The Plan establishes
priorities and provides guidance
for the HIV prevention program that is funded by the Maine Bureau of
Health. The group was established in 1994 and is composed of community representatives of
the prioritized at-risk
populations in Maine. It includes community members, health care providers, and
others with additional areas of expertise necessary to complete the Plan.
For more information about the Community Planning Group, please contact the Project Coordinator, Stacy Jochem, at sjochem@mcd.org or visit their website at www.mehivcpg.org.
