Watch Your Mouth

With support from the Maine Health Access Foundation, Betterment Fund, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine, we are coordinating "Watch Your Mouth Maine" in cooperation with the Maine Dental Access Coalition.  This project is being carried out in concert with similar efforts in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  Watch Your Mouth Maine will replicate a successful program developed by FrameWorks Institute.

The goal is to create a public climate in which policy proposals to improve children's oral health are more likely to be understood and supported by the public and policymakers.  To achieve this goal entails achieving the following supportive objectives:

• To put children's oral health on the public agenda
• To frame children's oral health as a problem that requires both individual and societal solutions
• To engage a powerful constituency that says it can and should be solved
• To identify and introduce policy and program solutions
