Continuing Medical Education

Since 1966, MCD has carried out continuing medical education as the means of bringing new scientific information to medical providers.  The content of our programs reflect our overall goals for improving primary and preventive care and emergency care, especially for Maine's most rural areas.

Medical Care Development often partners with other organizations to develop educational programs that meet the needs for changes in delivery methods, use of new medication or treatment strategies, and introduction of new prevention approaches.

We have recognized that health care delivery is a team process, so MCD provides education for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals in an effort to improve teamwork, team effectiveness, and medical outcomes.

We are continually searching for new information that can help physicians, nurses, and allied professionals to improve patient outcomes.  We also feel a need to find more effective ways to provide educational support for rural providers.  Please contact Kara Ohlund at kohlund@mcd.org or John LaCasse at jlacasse@mcd.org with any ideas for new programs or delivery methods.
