At the request of the Ministry of Public Health of Tunisia, MCDI conducted a study to consolidate and restructure the National Health Information System in order to improve the quality and management of health services. MCDI and its partner, the MoH Directorate at the national, regional and district levels, formulated a consensus on the national indicators that were entered into the system.
MCDI used the expertise of two of its consultants (a health information system management specialist and a computer engineer) to assess and program the existing system. Health indicators used in the system were defined so as to measure different parameters that ensure efficiency, accessibility and sustainability. A manual and guidelines for the utilization of the HMIS were developed and edited with the participation of the MoH.
