Personnel Training/Development of Health Infrastructure (1984 - 1990)


MCDI was awarded a five-year contract by the Government of Cape Verde to provide technical assistance in the following areas:

  • Compile engineering and architectural studies and plan and tender documents for the construction or renovation of project facilities (i.e., hospitals, a central warehouse, maintenance workshops, and laboratories)
  • Selection of appropriate equipment, furniture, and supplies for the facilities
  • Medical equipment repair and maintenance program, including the training of biomedical engineers and electromechanical technicians in Cape Verde
  • Drug distribution system for the country
  • Effective financial management system for bank and country fund disbursements
  • Established a project implementation unit to manage the project

MCDI provided long- and short-term consultants with expertise in financial management, facility planning, architecture, engineering (civil, electrical, and mechanical), facility equipping, drug-systems management, and biomedical engineering.
